About This Role
Skyborne Airline Academy is recruiting up to ten independent contract instructors to staff its planned ATP CTP (Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program) at a Part 141 FAA-certificated training facility in Miami Springs, Florida, near Miami International Airport. Instructors deliver classroom (ground) instruction and/or instruction in a Boeing 737-800 full-motion Level D simulator and fixed-base flight training device, teaching the ATP CTP curriculum toward issuance of the ATP CTP Certificate of Completion. The engagement is a non-employee, part-time contractor arrangement with flexible session selection, well suited to active airline pilots, Part 135 or Part 91 pilots seeking supplemental income, or retired/medically disqualified pilots who want to mentor the next generation of aviators.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver instructor-led classroom and simulator/FTD instruction to Skyborne clients under the academy's Part 141 FAA certificate and consistent with FAA standards.
- Teach the ATP CTP curriculum on Boeing 737 simulators.
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-flight FTD/simulator briefings in line with FAA expectations and safety practices, and run each session in accordance with aircraft-manufacturer guidance and FAA-recognized procedures.
- Provide the instruction required for issuance of an ATP CTP Certificate of Completion.
- Complete FAA-required training records accurately and comprehensively to ensure regulatory compliance and continuity of training, and record simulator usage and discrepancies per FAA procedures.
- Track and maintain personal instructional qualifications and currency to remain qualified to perform contracted training.

Requirements
- Must hold an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate with a fixed-wing, airplane-category, multi-engine class rating.
- Must hold, or obtain prior to beginning instruction, a current FAA Certified Flight Instructor certificate (CFI, CFII, or MEI).
- Must be type-rated on the Boeing 737 and current on the B737-800.
- No history of accidents or license suspensions.
- At least two years' experience as pilot-in-command at an FAA Part 121, Part 135, or Part 91 air carrier, or two years as second-in-command at a Part 121 air carrier.
- Experience as a current or former line check airman or simulator instructor is preferred but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, commitment to high-quality instruction and a positive client experience, ability to function effectively in a high-paced training environment, adaptability to changing training needs when selecting offered sessions, and fluency in English.
- Contractors must be able to accept or decline instructional opportunities based on personal availability.
