About This Role
CAE is seeking a part-time ATP/CTP 737 simulator and ground-school instructor for its training department in Eagan, Minnesota. The role is designed to transform the successful candidate’s pilot knowledge and skills into a world-class instructor and subject matter expert who leads clients through training, coaches others, values CRM, and works with a diverse team. It is an on-call, fixed-term position requiring 8 to 10 days of availability per month; the instructor submits availability at the end of the prior month and is scheduled as business needs allow. The posting requires an unrestricted ATP certificate with a 737 type rating, at least two years of Part 121 experience, U.S. work authorization, computer proficiency, and participation in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program, with prior simulator or instructional experience preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The instructor joins CAE’s training department as a part-time ATP/CTP 737 simulator and ground-school instructor.
- CAE’s training program is intended to develop the pilot’s knowledge and skills into a world-class instructor and subject matter expert ready to lead clients through their training.
- Core work includes coaching and communicating with trainees, applying CRM, creating a welcoming and successful learning environment, tailoring training sessions to diverse customer needs, delivering customer-focused instruction and red carpet service, adapting learning approaches to individual trainee needs, and maintaining accurate and timely records under CAE policy and FAA requirements.
- The instructor provides availability at the end of the prior month, with CAE scheduling as business needs allow, and must accommodate the stated physical demands, including ladder, stair, scaffolding, ramp, and pole use, prolonged standing or sitting, occasional confined-space positioning, moving objects up to 20 pounds, and repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions.

Requirements
- Minimum qualifications are authorization to live/work in the United States
- an unrestricted ATP certificate with a 737 type rating
- a minimum of 2 years of Part 121 experience
- basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and other internet based programs
- and the ability and willingness to participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program. CAE seeks experienced pilots with true professional character who can create a welcoming and successful learning environment, communicate effectively in spoken and written forms and at all levels, provide continuous red carpet customer service, tailor training to a diverse customer base, and maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with CAE policy and FAA requirements. Preferred qualifications include previous simulator instructor experience, aviation training, coaching, or instructional experience, instruction in a customer-focused training environment, and the ability to adapt learning approaches to individual trainee needs.
