About This Role
CAE is seeking a part-time ATP/CTP Ground School Instructor for its training department in Eagan, Minnesota. This on-call, fixed-term role is intended for experienced pilots who can coach clients through ATP/CTP training, apply CRM, create a welcoming learning environment, communicate effectively across levels and media, tailor instruction to diverse customers, and maintain accurate records in accordance with CAE policy and FAA requirements. CAE provides a comprehensive training program to develop the instructor into a world-class instructor and subject matter expert, and asks for 8 to 10 days of availability per month with scheduling based on business needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead clients through their ATP/CTP training and coach others in a diverse training environment while applying CRM. Create a welcoming and successful learning environment

- provide continuous “red carpet” customer service
- tailor training sessions to the needs of a diverse customer base
- and maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with CAE policy and FAA requirements.

The position is part time and on call (fixed term)instructors are asked to provide 8 to 10 days of availability per month, submit availability at the end of the prior month, and are scheduled as business needs permit.
Requirements
- Candidates must be authorized to live/work in the United States, hold an unrestricted ATP certificate, have basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and other internet based programs, and be able and willing to participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program. The posting lists “Minimum of 2 years' Part 121 experience preferred,” so this is preferred experience rather than a required flight-hour threshold. The ideal profile includes true professional character, effective spoken and written communication, continuous customer commitment, the ability to tailor training sessions to a diverse customer base, and attention to detail for accurate and timely recordkeeping. Preferred qualifications include previous instructor experience
- previous aviation training, coaching, or instructional experience
- experience delivering instruction in a customer-focused training environment
- and experience adapting learning approaches to individual trainee needs. Physical qualifications include constant ascent or descent of ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- occasional movement into confined spaces, prolonged standing or sitting, movement about the facility, adjustment or movement of objects up to 20 pounds, and repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions.
