About This Role
The Assistant Flight Instructor supports the CFI/DCFI and other flight instructors in maintaining training quality, curriculum standards, safety, security, and disciplined student development at Air India's FTO. The role delivers flying and simulator training within the instructor's permitted privileges, follows the approved syllabus and FTO procedures, monitors trainee progress, coordinates student programmes, conducts comprehensive briefings, maintains flight records and documentation, completes eGCA activities, and promptly escalates slow progress or other trainee issues to senior instructional staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the CFI/DCFI in maintaining flight-training quality and curriculum standards across the Air India FTO's locations, while maintaining security and safety standards during training.
- Deliver flying training within the privileges specified in Aircraft Rule 1937, Schedule II, Section Q, and adhere to the approved syllabus in the Training & Procedure Manual.
- Ensure that trainees receive quality instruction within the prescribed period, closely monitor their progress, and work as part of the instructional team to support safe flying operations.
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and monitoring student pilots' programmes.
- Conduct long briefings, pre-flight briefings, post-flight briefings, and other required student-pilot briefings.
- Maintain student-pilot flight reports on schedule and process them appropriately.
- Assist the CFI, Deputy CFI, and flight instructors in monitoring and developing the personal qualities and discipline of student pilots.
- Follow the FTO's Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
- Conduct flying simulator training as scheduled by Operations.
- Keep current with DGCA regulations and revisions to the Training & Procedure Manual, SOPs, and FOB.
- Ensure proper documentation before and after flying and simulator exercises, complete eGCA tasks on time, and promptly notify the CI/CFIs of slow-progress trainees or any other trainee issues.
Requirements
