About This Role
Air Transport International (ATI) is recruiting an Assistant Chief Pilot in Wilmington, Ohio, reporting to the Chief Pilot. The role supervises the flight department and its flight crewmembers to keep the airline safe and compliant, overseeing crew proficiency, flight standards, operating manuals and the safety management system. It requires an active airline transport pilot certificate with 757/767 (or similar) ratings and extensive Part 121 or Part 135 airline experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise all activities and flight crewmembers of the flight department, reporting to the Chief Pilot, and manage crewmember personnel matters while monitoring the proficiency of probationary and tenured pilots.
- Assist the Chief Pilot with recruitment and retention, evaluate and report unsafe or hazardous conditions, and help establish flight standards, policies and SOPs together with Flight Standards.
- Maintain flight publications and help establish and modify procedures across the company's manuals and Operations Specifications, including the AeroData performance handbook, aircraft flight manuals and quick reference handbooks, minimum equipment lists, and Operations Specifications A, B and C.
- Support goals that sustain operational performance and the safety management system (SMS).
Requirements
- at least 5 years of experience within the past 10 years as an airline transport pilot of a large airplane operated under Part 121 or Part 135, or prior Chief Pilot / flight-management experience under Part 121 or Part 135
- eligibility to hold a US Government Secret security clearance
- a high-school diploma or equivalent
- and an airline transport pilot certificate with appropriate ratings for the 757/767 or a similar aircraft type used on the certificate
Preferred Qualifications
- a bachelor's degree in aviation or a related field
- 5 years of PIC experience in a large aircraft in Part 121 operations
- and airline management and check-airman experience overseeing flight-crew training and checking.
