About This Role
The Assistant Chief Flight Instructor is responsible to provide safe, effective, and efficient FAA Part 141 flight instruction operations for the Flight School in accordance with all local, state, and federal guidelines. Directs daily operations to ensure FAA regulatory compliance, makes hiring recommendations, trains and evaluates staff, develops training course outlines and procedures, monitors pilot proficiency and currency, and certifies student training records, stage checks, and end-of-course tests. Salary $75,000.00, Full Time. Location MCAIR - Broomfield, CO 80021.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Directs daily operations to ensure compliance with FAA regulations.
- Makes hiring recommendations, trains staff, and evaluates performance.
- Develops Training Course Outlines, Training Manuals and Procedures.
- Monitors pilot proficiency and currency.
- Monitors FAA 141 required 80% pass rate.
- Certifies each student's training record, stage check and end-of-course test reports, and recommendation for course completion.
- Ensures certificated flight and ground instructors pass initial and recurrent proficiency checks.
- Ensures students accomplish required stage checks and end-of-course tests.
- Audits flight training records regularly.
- Supervises assigned Flight Instructors.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate and a current Flight Instructor Certificate with appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings applicable to the school's approved training courses.
- Minimum 500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time, 1000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time preferred.
- Minimum 50 hours of actual or simulated instrument flight time.
- Flight instructor experience: at least 1 year and 250 hours of flight instruction given, OR 500 hours of flight instruction given.
- Instrument instructor experience as a CFII: at least 1 year and 125 hours of instrument flight instruction given, OR 200 hours of instrument flight instruction given.
- CFI required, CFII required, MEI required.
- FAA Class II Medical preferred, FAA Class III Medical required.
