About This Role
TransMedics is seeking an Assistant Chief Certified Flight Instructor to ensure high-quality flight instruction and oversee the flight instructor staff. The role includes certifying training and testing records, conducting student stage and final tests, performing instructor proficiency checks, supervising flight-training activity, monitoring instructor performance, and ensuring compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations. The instructor will also coordinate student, instructor, and aircraft scheduling, monitor student progress, maintain current training materials and programs, lead staff meetings, and work with students, parents, airport officials, and FAA personnel.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Assistant Chief Flight Instructor certifies all training records, graduation certificates, stage and final test reports, and student recommendations, and conducts each stage or final test given to students. The role conducts initial proficiency checks for flight instructors and annual recurrent proficiency checks in accordance with FARs, ensures regulatory compliance, supervises flight-training activities, monitors instructor performance, and makes recommendations. - advising and consulting with flight students
- keeping current with regulatory and procedural changes
- reviewing and updating flight-training programs
- ensuring training materials are current and available
- scheduling and leading staff meetings
- meeting with prospective students and parents
- maintaining cooperative communication with airport officials and FAA personnel
- and performing other assigned TransMedics duties.

Requirements
- Required qualifications include two years of relevant aviation experience
- previous experience working in a Part 141 flight school is strongly preferred. The candidate must be flexible and able to adapt quickly, work nights, holidays, and weekends as required, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, work well with others, maintain high productivity in a fast-paced environment, organize and multitask across a wide variety of tasks, maintain good working relationships with coworkers and vendors, and demonstrate careful attention to detail. The candidate must meet the requirements of 14 CFR 141.35 or 141.36.
