About This Role
Berry Aviation is recruiting a DHC-8 Captain to serve as PIC on overseas Part 135 operations based at Kwajalein Atoll. The Captain prepares flight and risk-assessment documentation, evaluates weather, terrain, performance and airport facilities, ensures each release meets Part 135 requirements and maintains accurate aircraft and mission records. Required qualifications include an FAA ATP with multi-engine land rating, a First-Class medical, a current US passport, 1,500 PIC and 500 multi-engine PIC hours and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Berry prefers 3,000 total and 1,200 multi-engine turbine hours, DHC-8 and Part 135 experience and prior work on US Government contracts in austere or OCONUS environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan flights as assigned and obtains information regarding purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures and special instruction.
- Ensure proper preparation of flight plans, considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise control data, airport facilities and navigational aids.
- Ensure all flights are released in accordance with FAR 135 guidelines and all of the necessary documentation is aboard the aircraft for legal and safe completion of each flight.
- Conduct aircraft preflight inspections and complete all required preflight preparations, including a risk assessment for each assigned flight.
- Operate assigned flights in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, FAA regulations, approved flight plans, and operational schedules.
- Maintain accurate flight, aircraft, and mission records.
Requirements
- Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Multi-Engine Land rating Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate Current US Passport with at minimum of six months validity remaining Minimum 1,500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) Minimum 500 hours multi-engine PIC Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S.
