About This Role
Aviation Training Consulting LLC is seeking a part-time AC-130J Contract Instructor Pilot to deliver formal academic and simulator flight training for officer and enlisted aircrew. The instructor will support initial qualification, mission qualification, requalification, instructor, aircraft commander, weapons systems officer upgrade, and key staff training, preparing students to conduct close air support, air interdiction, and armed reconnaissance missions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide formal academic and simulator flight training for officer and enlisted students in initial qualification, mission qualification, requalification, instructor, aircraft commander, weapons systems officer upgrade, and key staff courses.
- Instruct AC-130J emergency procedures, systems operation, instrument flight, and tactical operations.
- Provide academic and simulator refresher training to qualified AC-130J aircrew members.
- Assist with the Instructional Systems Design process, including designing and developing AC-130J courseware and ensuring that courseware is correctly applied.
- Become a Community College of the Air Force certified instructor and perform other duties as directed by the management team or otherwise assigned.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college and be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Candidates must have been current as an AC-130J pilot within the previous two years, or within the previous eight years if they have completed eight years of military operational flying duty at the time of hire and have at least two years or 200 hours of in-flight instructor experience in the AC-130J H/U/W/J.
- Waivers may be available for candidates with prior AC-130 experience or previous AC-130J Contract Instructor experience.
- The selected candidate must be able to obtain an active SECRET clearance and will undergo a government security investigation.
- Eligibility for access to classified information and COMSEC material includes US Citizenship.
- The role also requires creativity, responsiveness, adaptability, strong interpersonal communication, teamwork, and the ability to communicate orally, read, write, and comprehend English.
