About This Role
QinetiQ, a global defence and engineering company, is seeking experienced tactical military pilots to fly Learjet LR-45 aircraft in support of the Australian Defence Force's Joint Adversarial Training and Testing Services (JATTS) program. Based in Nowra, New South Wales, this role involves target towing and tactical flight missions supporting military training operations. Candidates must have a minimum of 500 hours PIC on tactical military aircraft (such as F-18, F-35, Typhoon, or similar fast jets), current CPL or ATPL, and eligibility for Defence Security Clearance NV1. QinetiQ provides comprehensive training including type rating conversion on the Learjet, a supportive multi-crew environment, and the opportunity to fly unique tactical missions outside the military. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate Learjet LR-45 aircraft on tactical military training missions
  • Conduct target towing operations supporting Australian Defence Force training
  • Provide tactical flight support for Joint Adversarial Training and Testing Services (JATTS) program
  • Develop and demonstrate tactical flying skills in multi-crew environment
  • Support military training objectives through realistic threat representation
  • Conduct pre-flight inspections and crew briefings
  • Maintain flight documentation and compliance records

Requirements
  • Current CPL or ATPL license
  • Minimum 500 hours PIC experience in tactical military aircraft
  • Experience in low-level operations and multi-type/multi-aircraft scenarios
  • Current, re-activatable, or eligible for Defence Security Clearance NV1
  • Current Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • Experience with fighter aircraft (F-18, F-18 Super Hornet, F-35, F-111, Typhoon, F-16, Tornado, Hawk or similar)
  • Multi Crew Cooperation certificate (required if ATPL not held)
  • Current IPC (Instrument Proficiency Check)
  • ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Defence Security Clearance
  • Pass pre-employment screening including identity verification and police checks
