About This Role
Joby Aviation, an innovative aerospace company based in Concord, California, is seeking an experienced Test Pilot to support research and development operations on their Cessna 208 Caravan platform. This permanent position requires a minimum of 1500 hours PIC time and 300 hours of turbine experience, along with 8+ years in flight test operations. The role involves crewed and UAS platform operations, developmental and operational flight testing, and engineering support activities. Compensation ranges from $140,500 to $231,600 annually with a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), stock purchase plans, and health insurance. Candidates must be US Persons meeting export control compliance requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate research and development crewed and UAS platforms
- Perform pilot command duties during developmental and operational flight testing
- Support full spectrum of test pilot duties
- Support engineering development activities
- Conduct flight testing on Cessna Caravan program (primary focus)
- Participate in military exercises and deployed testing as needed

Requirements
- Minimum 1500 hours PIC time
- Minimum 300 hours turbine time
- At least 8 years of experience in flight test positions
- Valid CPL and IR licenses (FAA)
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field, preferably Engineering
- Proficient in reading and speaking English
- Willing to work extended hours and travel domestically and internationally
- Must qualify as a US Person as defined by 22 CFR 120.15 (US Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in fast-moving team environment
