About This Role
Spirit Airlines is seeking an experienced Senior Flight Operations Instructor to deliver high-quality pilot training for Initial Qualification, Recurrent, Captain Upgrade, and Requalification programs. The role involves classroom instruction, simulator training on Level 5 Flight Training Devices, and emergency procedures training at their training centers. Candidates must have 5+ years of airline/aviation instructor experience or equivalent pilot experience (FAR 121/135), with ATP or CPL certifications preferred. This position offers the opportunity to mentor and develop pilots while contributing to curriculum development and training methodology improvements across multiple Spirit Airlines training locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience as an Airline/Aviation instructor (preferred)
- 5+ years experience as FAR 121, 135 pilot or equivalent foreign operation
- ATP preferred or commercial certificate with instrument and multi-engine ratings
- A320 Type Rating (preferred) or equivalent type rating
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Excellent instructing, facilitating and mentoring skills
- Commitment to professional aviation instructional standards
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (under 25% of time)
- Flexible schedule availability based on training requirements
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
