About This Role
Jet Linx is hiring a full-time Second in Command for Citation XLS+ midsize jet operations based in Houston. The role supports Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations, reports to the Base Chief Pilot, and helps prepare and ensure the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures. Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate within a two-hour callout area of the Houston base.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Second in Command reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot and helps prepare and ensure the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft under applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures. Duties include managing duty, flight, and rest times in accordance with company requirements and the CFRs
- maintaining communication with the company regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and pre- and post-flight reports
- maintaining and managing electronic flight bag hardware and applications
- ensuring navigation charts, publications, and company manuals remain current
- maintaining a current first-class medical certificate
- demonstrating strong, proactive decision-making
- and representing Jet Linx core values in all interactions.

Jet Linx offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.The starting base annual salary ranges from $89,000 to $125,000, with the actual amount depending on geographic location, aircraft size, relevant education, training, and experience.Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a 6% company match, paid time off, and company-paid life and short-term disability coverage.
Requirements
- Applicants must have 1,500 hours of total flight time, 500 hours of total PIC time, 500 hours of total multi-engine time, 100 hours of total turbine time, and 150 hours of total instrument time.
- Initial or recurrent Part 142 training in type within the previous 24 months is preferred.
- Other requirements include the ability to obtain a U.S. driver's license, proof of eligibility to work in the United States, a current passport, the ability to obtain an ATP, a first-class medical certificate, and an FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and submit to random drug and alcohol testing when required, including testing for marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP, and amphetamines in safety-sensitive functions.
- Applicants must have unrestricted ability to travel to Canada and Caribbean countries, pass an FAA Pilot Record Database review with a System Chief Pilot, and be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- The position is primarily performed around aircraft and aircraft terminals and requires moving up to 50 pounds frequently.
