About This Role
Senior International Captain commanding Gulfstream G600 international flights under FAA Part 91 from a Houston/Conroe, Texas base for HPE's corporate (executive) flight department. Acts as Pilot-in-Command on long-range and oceanic international missions, leads flight planning and operational decision-making, ensures regulatory compliance and airworthiness, and mentors crew. Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of the Gulfstream G600 on international missions, exercising operational control consistent with company policy and FARs applicable to Part 91.
- Lead flight planning for long-range and oceanic operations, including fuel/payload/performance calculations, weather analysis, and overflight/landing permit coordination.
- Coordinate dispatch, crew scheduling, ground handling, and in-flight operational decisions to ensure safe, efficient missions.
- Conduct and document pre-flight and post-flight inspections and ensure aircraft airworthiness.
- Maintain and demonstrate currency through recurrent simulator training, proficiency checks, and company-required checks for the G600.
- Mentor and train crew members in CRM, SMS, emergency procedures, and company SOPs.
- Interface professionally with executives, clients, international authorities, handlers, and vendors.
- Participate in safety programs, risk assessments, and continuous operational improvements.
Requirements
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate. FAA First Class Medical Certificate (current). Valid passport and ability to obtain necessary international visas/permits. Minimum total flight time: 6,000+ hours (minimum). Minimum multi-engine jet time: 4,000 hours. PIC experience in international operations and long-range multi-crew aircraft. Thorough familiarity with FARs applicable to Part 91 operations and ICAO standards for international flights
Preferred Qualifications
- business large cabin, long range, international GVII/600/500, GVI/650, or similar Gulfstream type command experience
- instructor/evaluator credentials (check airman, TR/FE experience)
- additional certifications such as A&P or advanced safety SMS training
- multilingual skills relevant to destination regions
- experience supporting VIP/client-focused executive flight operations.
