About This Role
FlightSafety International is seeking a part-time Simulator Second in Command based in Moonachie, New Jersey, serving the Teterboro area. The position maintains currency in assigned simulator programs and acts as a qualified Second in Command for internal and external customer pilots attending recurrent, initial, or generic training in multi-crew aircraft. The role supports Part 142, Part 135, and non-FAA customers, but does not perform instructional duties.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as Second in Command for customers training in multi-crew aircraft who arrive without a flying partner, serving as a competent SIC without performing instructional duties.
- Maintain SIC pilot qualification for the assigned programs and comply with FlightSafety International's Quality Management Systems processes and procedures.
- Keep all certificates, ratings, and designations required for SIC duties current.
- Serve as SIC in various aircraft types for Part 142, Part 135, and non-FAA clients as required.

Requirements
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and two to three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Before beginning SIC duties, candidates must possess a Commercial Pilot Certificate with the appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings and must have a minimum of 450 hours. The role requires fluency in spoken and written English, strong cockpit verbal communication, professional interaction with customers, and the ability to adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure situations
- a second language may be required at some Learning Centers. Candidates must also be physically capable of operating rudder or anti-torque controls with both feet, manipulating simulator controls, entering and exiting the simulator via its ramp, and exiting a malfunctioned simulator in a severely pitched attitude. The position requires the specified visual abilities, the ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds regularly and 25 pounds frequently, and tolerance for occasional exposure to mechanical parts, height, outdoor conditions, chemicals, temperature extremes, electrical shock, radiation, vibration, and other simulator work-environment hazards. Employment is subject to compliance reviews, OFAC screening, export-control eligibility under ITAR and/or EAR requirements, and potentially obtaining and maintaining a U.S. Government security clearance.
