About This Role
FlightSafety International is hiring a Simulator Second in Command in Long Beach, California. The position maintains currency in assigned simulator programs so it can serve as a competent SIC for internal and external customer pilots attending recurrent, initial, or generic training in multi-crew aircraft when they arrive without a flying partner. It supports Part 142, Part 135, and non-FAA client programs across various aircraft types, and the posting expressly states that the SIC will not perform instructional duties. Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as Second in Command for clients training in multi-crew aircraft who attend without a flying partner, acting as a competent second crewmember without performing instructional duties. Maintain currency in assigned programs and maintain SIC qualification under FlightSafety International’s Quality Management Systems processes and procedures. Keep all certificates, ratings, and designations required for SIC work current, and serve as SIC in various aircraft types for Part 142, Part 135, and non-FAA clients as required. The role also involves reaching, exerting pressure on, and manipulating rudder and/or anti-torque controls with both feet
- reaching and manipulating numerous controls in the simulator
- entering and exiting through the provided ramp
- and exiting a malfunctioned simulator while it is in a severely pitched attitude.

Requirements
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, with two to three (2-3) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Before starting an SIC assignment, the applicant must hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate with the appropriate category, class, and instrument ratings and have a minimum of 450 hours. The role requires fluency in English in verbal and written communication, including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write

- and the ability to adapt to changing schedules and high-pressure situations. A second language may be required at some Learning Centers. Physical capability includes manipulating rudder and/or anti-torque controls with both feet, reaching and manipulating simulator controls, entering and exiting through the provided ramp, and exiting a malfunctioned simulator while it is in a severely pitched attitude. The employee may also need to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and use the required vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception and focus adjustment. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds. The work may involve moving mechanical parts, precarious heights, outdoor weather, wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat, electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
