About This Role
JSX (operating as Delux Public Charter, LLC) is hiring a Quick Upgrade Captain based in Las Vegas, NV. Despite the title, the role functions as a right-seat/SIC position with a fast-track path to the left seat: the holder serves as the secondary voice to the Captain in decision-making, collaborates with the Captain on departure/arrival strategies, and is first in line to upgrade to Captain when a spot opens. Typical schedules average 3-5 legs per day over 14-16 days per month, returning crew to home base nightly. Operations are conducted in full compliance with FAA regulations and JSX SOPs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Pre-Flight: review flight details in Traxxall (maintenance status, NOTAMs, fuel loads, weather, routing)
- collaborate with the Captain on departure/arrival and diversion strategies
- perform required pre-flight checks, safety procedures, and flows. In-Flight: operate the aircraft in full compliance with FAA regulations, JSX SOPs, and industry safety standards
- maintain real-time communication with Mission Control (Dispatch), Ground Operations, ATC, and the Flight Attendant
- serve as the secondary voice to the Captain in decision-making. Post-Flight: assist with quick turn tasks and light cabin tidying
- log maintenance in Traxxall and communicate critical updates to Mission Control. Additional: participate in recurrent training and performance evaluations
- assist with baggage handling at smaller airports where ground support is limited.
Requirements
- Required Experience: High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum 2500 fixed-wing total flight hours
- Minimum 500 multi-engine hours
- Minimum 500 turbine hours
- Minimum 100 hours within the last 12 months
- No FAA violations/accidents/incidents/suspensions
- No significant training/check ride failures. Preferred Experience: 3000+ total time
- 1000+ multi-engine hours
- Embraer 135/145 experience. Skill, Licenses, & Certifications: Valid FAA Pilot Certificate appropriate to the aircraft and operating position held
- Current and valid Driver's license and Passport
- Current and valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- Current and valid ATP or Commercial Multi-Engine Certificate
- Current and valid FCC Radio Operator's Permit.
