About This Role
MAG Aerospace is seeking ISR fixed-wing pilots for the Projects B King Air 350 program. The pilot will operate modified Contractor Owned, Contractor Operated BE-300 turboprop aircraft in commercial and host-nation environments, supporting sensor-enabled missions with Airborne Sensor Operators and Mission Commanders. The assignment may involve day and night operations in VMC and IMC, remote and austere locations, unimproved runways, and multiple continental U.S. and overseas locations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The pilot is responsible for safe, effective, and efficient flight operations, including identifying aircraft maintenance faults and coordinating corrective actions. Duties include completing all flight-safety documentation in accordance with applicable industry and FAA standards
- conducting pre-flight planning and aircraft pre-flight checks
- coordinating with Airborne Sensor Operators and Mission Commanders who operate onboard sensor systems
- and executing assigned missions. The pilot will monitor airspace, weather, radio communications, mission boundaries, other traffic, and aircraft systems. The role also requires coordination with Fixed Base Operators, military range control, military and civilian Air Traffic Control facilities, Primary Mission Equipment operators, Mission Commanders, and Mission Coordination Services. Pilots will fly modified Contractor Owned, Contractor Operated turboprop aircraft under commercial and host-nation regulations and program procedures, operate by day and night in VMC and IMC, maintain night currency and instrument proficiency, and serve as an Aviation Safety Pilot when directed. Operations may be conducted from remote, austere, and primitive locations with possible unimproved runways, with particular emphasis on crew-member safety and customer relations.
Requirements
- Applicants must be qualified in the applicable mission, type, design, and, where appropriate, series of aircraft. The required experience includes at least 1,000 documented hours of Pilot-in-Command time, including 300 hours in multi-engine turboprop aircraft for other-aircraft PIC experience. Candidates must hold a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate and either a current FAA Commercial Pilot license or Airline Transport Pilot license. A BE-300 unrestricted or SIC-required type rating is required. Preferred qualifications include former U.S. military or government law-enforcement pilot experience
- U.S. military fixed-wing instructor pilot, maintenance pilot, or instrument examiner training
- prior overseas rotation experience, particularly in USCENTCOM or USAFRICOM areas of operation
- a Radio Telephone Operators Permit
- USSOCOM global-operations experience
- a current FAA CFI/IME rating
- and a U.S. military or OSHA Safety Officer rating. Preferred education and experience are a bachelor's degree or equivalent and seven to nine years of related experience. Candidates must possess an active Secret security clearance, with TS preferred, be U.S. citizens, and hold a passport with at least six months remaining before expiration.
