About This Role
Solairus Aviation is seeking a full-time Praetor 600 Captain for an operation based at KSJC in San Jose. The role is responsible for the safe, prudent and professional conduct of flights while supporting client travel needs and upholding Solairus standards of safety, service and integrity. The Captain will work closely with the operation and crew, manage pre-flight and in-flight safety responsibilities, complete required documentation and remain available for an on-call schedule.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain is responsible for the safe operation of the Praetor 600 aircraft and for conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner. Duties include reviewing the aircraft maintenance status
- performing a complete pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual
- checking weather, facilities, route conditions, destination airports and alternate airports
- ensuring compliance with Solairus Aviation policies, procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
- safeguarding passengers, aircraft and crew
- and accurately completing all trip paperwork under current procedures.
Requirements
- The qualifications listed include 3,000 hours total time, 1,500 hours PIC, 1,500 hours MEL, 500 hours MEL PIC, 500 hours turbojet time and 250 hours instrument time.
- Candidates must be type rated on the Praetor 600 or a comparable aircraft and hold a first-class medical.
- The position requires the ability to work on an on-call basis, complete ICAO international procedures training annually, and maintain a primary residence within a two-hour drive of KSJC or be willing to relocate.
