About This Role
SkyWest Airlines' Pilot Pathway Program is a career-pipeline program for student pilots enrolled at, or graduated from, SkyWest Elite or Standard Partner flight schools who are working toward a commercial pilot career. Rather than a line-flying position, it is an unpaid program that pairs aspiring pilots with SkyWest mentors and runs until the candidate reaches ATP or R-ATP minimums, at which point participants gain a guaranteed interview at SkyWest (subject to meeting minimum hiring requirements). Members receive enhanced company seniority, an enhanced introduction to SkyWest, mentorship, interview preparation, and ongoing association with SkyWest crewmembers. Elite Partner students may join immediately upon starting flight training; Standard Partner students must first hold a Private Pilot License, an Instrument Rating, and a Commercial Rating.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participants work closely with SkyWest mentors and remain engaged with the program until they reach ATP or R-ATP minimums, actively updating their logged flight hours each month through SkyWest Online.

Requirements
- Applicants must be an active or former student at a SkyWest Elite or Standard Partner school and be working toward becoming a commercial pilot.
- A valid driver's license and a minimum age of 18 are required.
- Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or able to show proof of the right to work in the United States, and may not have more than two check ride failures.
- Participants must actively update their flight hours monthly through SkyWest Online.
- Students enrolled at an Elite Partner (ATP, AeroGuard, FLT Academy) are eligible to join immediately upon starting flight training.
- Students at a Standard Partner (Acron Aviation, Axiom Aviation, California Aeronautical University, Cornerstone Aviation, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University–Prescott Campus, Nulton Aviation, Saint Francis Aviation, Skyborne, Sling Pilot Academy, Southern Utah University, Spartan, University of North Dakota Grand Forks, Utah Valley University, Utah State University, Western Michigan University) must additionally hold a Private Pilot License, an Instrument Rating, and a Commercial Rating.
