About This Role
Executive Jet Management is hiring a Captain to support a Gulfstream G450 based at GYY airport in Gary, Indiana, just outside the Chicagoland area. The aircraft operates under Part 91 and internal Part 135 authority with no retail charter activity. This is a three-pilot account flying approximately 350 hours annually, supported by a full-time Maintenance Technician and dedicated hangar space. The owner values quality of life, the trip calendar is generally planned one to two months in advance, and the crew structure is intended to support a healthy work-life balance. International trips are scheduled with ample notice for planning and crew coordination. The position is not commutable and requires residence within driving distance of Gary, Indiana.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain ensures the safe operation of each flight by confirming that crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements
- completing flight planning, performance, and weight-and-balance tasks
- leading required Threats, Plans and Considerations briefings
- following company Standard Operating Procedures
- coordinating with company personnel
- and serving as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator when required by company policy. The role includes completing all aircraft pre-flight tasks, checking aircraft maintenance status and mission capability, recording discrepancies in accordance with SOPs, monitoring and ensuring ground servicing such as fueling, oil, and oxygen, and conducting passenger briefings. The Captain provides a high level of customer service, accommodates special passenger needs including those of physically challenged passengers, and uses Crew Resource Management and Threat and Error Management to communicate clearly and promptly with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations. Additional responsibilities include providing quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to improve the EJM service experience, investigating and resolving service deviations, collaborating with crew members and internal EJM partners, resolving conflicts appropriately, maintaining required training and recency of experience, complying with the company SMS program, and reporting safety or non-compliance concerns through the proper channels.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and a First Class Medical Certificate.
- The posting lists 4-6 years of experience, with prior corporate or business aviation experience preferred, and requires an FAA type rating in the applicable fleet.
- Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Minimum flight-time requirements are 3,500 hours total flight time, 1,500 hours Multi Engine Land, 2,000 hours Pilot in Command, 500 hours PIC MEL, 300 hours instrument time, and 500 hours jet time.
- The role is not commutable, so the successful candidate must reside within driving distance of Gary, Indiana, and applicants should be prepared for pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
