About This Role
Sun Air Jets, a boutique private jet charter and aircraft management company, is seeking an experienced Captain (Pilot in Command) for their Beechjet/BE400 Nextant aircraft based in Camarillo, California. Operating under Part 91 & 135 regulations with a 4-crew rotation and 8-on/6-off schedule, this role requires a BE400 type rating with significant command experience. Candidates must have a minimum of 3,500 total flight hours with 1,800 hours PIC, 1,800 hours turbine time, and international charter experience. Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct all flight operations in strict compliance with FAA regulations, company SOPs, and safety management systems
- Perform comprehensive pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight duties including aircraft inspections and documentation
- Maintain situational awareness and exercise sound judgment in all phases of flight
- Ensure adherence to weather minimums, fuel requirements, and alternate planning standards
- Participate in Safety Management System (SMS) reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Demonstrate strong leadership and effective communication within multi-crew environment
- Promote culture of safety, professionalism, and accountability in the cockpit
- Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, and operations control for seamless trip execution
- Provide high level of professionalism and service to passengers and clients
- Ensure cabin readiness, cleanliness, and passenger comfort
- Communicate clearly with passengers regarding flight conditions and changes
- Review trip sheets, NOTAMs, weather briefings, and routing prior to each flight
- Ensure all required documentation is accurate and onboard
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure aircraft airworthiness
- Maintain all required pilot certifications, medicals, passports, and visas
- Complete recurrent training, check rides, and company training requirements
- Stay current on FAA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices
- Represent the company professionally at all times
- Maintain flexibility for 24/7 operational environment including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Complete flight logs, expense reports, and required company documentation
- Utilize company systems efficiently
- Assist in audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews

Requirements
- Valid ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) certificate
- First Class Medical Certificate
- BE400 type rating (Nextant experience preferred)
- Minimum 3,500 hours total flight time
- Minimum 2,000 hours multi-engine land (with 1,800 as PIC)
- Minimum 1,800 hours PIC
- Minimum 1,800 hours turbine time
- Minimum 200 hours in BE400 (Nextant with 100 hours as PIC)
- Minimum 300 hours instrument as PIC
- Minimum 30 hours in last 90 days and 200 hours in last 365 days
- International charter experience
- ICAO international requirements met
- Part 135 operational experience
- Valid passport and visas for international travel
- Ability to lift minimum 65 lbs
- FAA/DOT drug testing clearance
- Pilot records check
- Background check and fingerprinting required
- Clean driver's record
- Must reside within 2 hours of major hub airport (home base)
- Must meet ICAO international age requirement
