About This Role
Vantage Aviation is seeking a highly skilled, safety-focused Gulfstream G280 Captain for its Flight Operations team in Richmond, Virginia. The Captain is responsible for operating the aircraft safely and efficiently under FAA Part 91 and Part 135 requirements while following company policies and procedures. The role combines technical flight-deck leadership, sound operational judgment, crew coordination, schedule flexibility, and discreet, professional service for private-aviation clients.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate the G280 in compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and safety standards.
- Conduct comprehensive preflight planning, including weather analysis, fuel planning, routing, weight-and-balance work, and aircraft performance calculations.
- Verify that required aircraft documentation, inspections, and certifications are current before every flight.
- Coordinate and communicate closely with the flight crew throughout all phases of flight, provide clients with discreet and professional service, participate in recurrent training, and maintain all required FAA certifications.
- Support flight operations and scheduling and perform additional duties assigned by the Chief Pilot or Director of Operations.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate and a current First-Class FAA medical certificate. They must have at least 5,000 total flight hours, 2,000 PIC hours, and 2,000 hours of multi-engine time. A G280 type rating is preferred, although candidates willing to obtain it through company-sponsored training may apply
- 250 hours on type and previous Part 91 and/or Part 135 experience are also preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge of FAA regulations, aviation safety standards, and operational best practices, together with excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, and customer-service skills. They must handle interactions with high-net-worth individuals discreetly and live, or be willing to relocate, within two hours of KFCI. The position requires frequent travel, flexible availability including weekends and holidays, the ability to work in varying weather and operational conditions, and the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
