About This Role
Logan Health's A.L.E.R.T. Air Ambulance is seeking an experienced Fixed Wing Pilot to join their emergency medical transport operation based in Kalispell, Montana. This is a critical role providing 24/7 air ambulance services as part of a comprehensive healthcare system. Candidates must hold either an FAA ATPL or CPL with instrument rating, maintain a Class I or II Medical Certificate, and meet FAR Part 135 requirements with minimum 1200 hours total time (1500 preferred) and 500 hours cross-country experience. The position offers the opportunity to provide life-saving emergency medical transport services while working with a professional flight crew and medical team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate fixed-wing aircraft safely and professionally in accordance with A.L.E.R.T. General Operations Manual and FAR regulations
  • Respond to dispatch requests within five minutes
  • Maintain valid FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate
  • Document and maintain flight and duty time logs
  • Complete required annual ground training
  • Monitor weather conditions for normal operating area and brief medical crew on changing conditions
  • Tug airplane into and out of hangar
  • Maintain calm, professional demeanor under stressful conditions
  • Assist with loading/unloading patients to and from aircraft
  • Provide 24/7 coverage availability for emergency response
  • Clean interior and exterior of aircraft and pilot quarters
  • Cultivate positive relationships with emergency response teams
  • Participate in education, safety, and public relations briefings as needed
  • Maintain clean and efficient work environment

Requirements
  • Valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate OR Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating
  • Valid FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate
  • Minimum 1200 hours airplane flight time (1500 hours preferred)
  • Minimum 500 hours cross-country flight time
  • Minimum 100 hours night flight time
  • Minimum 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time
  • Minimum 50 hours actual instrument time
  • Meet FAR Part 135.243(c)(1)(2)(3) flight and operational experience requirements
  • Maximum body weight with flight gear: 250 lbs
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work 24/7 on-call schedule including nights and weekends
  • Clean criminal background check required
  • Drug screening required
  • Valid medical and immunization screening
  • Physical demand review clearance
