About This Role
Southwest Airlines seeks an experienced First Officer to join their Flight Operations Team, operating Boeing 737 aircraft on scheduled domestic routes. Candidates must hold an unrestricted FAA ATPL with multiengine land rating, a valid First Class Medical, and a minimum of 500 hours in fixed-wing turbine aircraft. Requirements
  • USA DOT/FAA Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
  • Airplane Multiengine Land Category and Class Ratings
  • English Proficient limitation on certificate
  • Valid USA DOT/FAA First Class Medical Certificate
  • Special Issuance or SODA if applicable
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
  • Valid United States Driver's License
  • Minimum 500 hours in fixed-wing turbine aircraft
  • B737 type rating required
  • Valid passport with unrestricted international travel ability
  • Must be U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in U.S.
  • No work authorization sponsorship available
  • Must be at least 23 years of age at time of hire
  • Ability to lift and move 40 lbs
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime
  • Must grant Southwest Airlines access to Pilot Records Database information
  • Must maintain well-groomed appearance per company standards
  • Must comply with company attendance standards and work rules
  • Ability to read, speak, write and understand English
  • Ability to meet regulatory criteria for CREW badge designation
  • Successfully completed all aspects of Southwest Destination 225° pathway program (preferred)
  • Actively flying fixed-wing turbine for last 3 years (preferred)
  • Turbine Pilot In Command time on 121 airline, military, or U.S. based flight experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • History of aviation-related organizational leadership experience (preferred)
