About This Role
Gridiron Air is seeking a full-time Captain based in Fort Worth, Texas. When on duty, the Captain has full command of the aircraft and crew and shares responsibility with the Director of Operations for pre-flight planning, delay decisions, and flight release. The Captain reports to the Chief Pilot and is responsible for conducting flights safely and efficiently in compliance with company manuals, applicable regulations, operating specifications, FAA guidance, and manufacturer recommendations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain operates in accordance with company-approved or accepted manuals and, where applicable, the OpSpecs, 14 CFRs, FAA Orders, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circulars, Handbook Bulletins, directives, and manufacturer recommendations. The Captain has full authority and responsibility for all crewmembers and for the safe and efficient conduct of the flight from the time the crew reports for duty, throughout en-route operations and intermediate departure points, until the crew goes off duty for rest. - and ensuring pilot appearance, attendance, and personal conduct comply with company policies. The Captain must comply with administrative programs covering airport and route qualification, flight-time limitations, currency requirements such as physicals, takeoffs and landings, and home-study courses, as well as pilot flight equipment, uniform discipline, manuals, policies, procedures, and other assigned programs. The Captain must immediately notify the Chief Pilot of discrepancies or incidents that could affect the pilot's or the company's ability to operate safely, remain regulatory compliant, and maintain fiscal responsibility. The role also includes directing the flight crew safely and efficiently to meet company operational requirements, taking necessary action to resolve problems that could compromise safety or compliance, and performing additional duties or special projects assigned by the Chief Pilot.
Requirements
- Required qualifications include an FAA ATP license, First Class Medical, FCC Certificate, legal authorization to live and work in the United States, eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance, no FAA accident history or regulatory violations, and successful completion of a DOT pre-employment drug test.
- Candidates must be fluent in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension, and should demonstrate strong communication, sharp judgment, attention to detail, and a hospitality mindset.
- The role requires 5,000 hours of total fixed-wing flight time with EFIS/FMS/Glass flight deck experience, 2,000 PIC hours in aircraft weighing over 154,000 pounds, 1,000 hours in turbojet aircraft, and 1,000 hours of experience in Part 121, Part 91, or Part 135 operations.
- Supplemental Part 121 experience and B777 or other Boeing aircraft experience are preferred.
