About This Role
Keewatin Air (also known as Kivalliq Air) is a long-established Northern Canadian aeromedical operator providing 24-hour emergency air ambulance, regional medevac, and charter services across Central and Northern Canada and the Arctic, with corporate offices and centralized support based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and a network of locations across Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. This role is for a Captain on the Pilatus PC-24, based at the Winnipeg (YWG) base. The PC-24 Captain is responsible for the operation and safety of the aircraft and for the safety of all people on board during flight time, adhering to strict aviation regulations and procedures and making critical decisions on flight paths, weather conditions, mechanical integrity, and emergency handling.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform pre-flight preparation and familiarization covering route, aerodromes, winds, weather, navigation aids, and alternate plans.
- Ensure each flight can be conducted safely and in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), operate the aircraft accordingly and take corrective action whenever safety is jeopardized, and follow checklists for the various phases of flight.
- Observe the instructions and limitations of the Operations Manual, Flight Manual, and Certificate of Airworthiness, and comply with Air Traffic Control, communications, and weather-reporting procedures.
- Ensure aircraft operation remains within parameters appropriate for patients on board and report any deviations in the Captain's Trip Report.
- Report known or suspected aircraft defects to the maintenance department and record them in the Journey Log.
- Check weather for unusual conditions and take precautions to protect the aircraft during stopovers.
- Complete and submit associated paperwork (Journey Log, flight manifests, Captain's Trip Report, load control forms, fuel slips, and dangerous goods documentation), notify the appropriate authority of crew location, and carry out any duties detailed in the Safety Management System Manual.

Requirements
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
- 2,500 hours total flight time, including 500 hours pilot-in-command on multi-engine turbine aircraft, plus 100 hours time on type.
- MEDEVAC/air ambulance experience is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Transport Canada regulations.
- Able to obtain a Driving Airside (D/A) licence and to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
- Valid driver's licence and valid passport required, with the ability to travel abroad unrestricted.
- Must pass a clear current criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry check, and Vulnerable Sectors check.
- Indigenous Awareness and/or Cultural Diversity training is considered an asset.
- Must be fully vaccinated with a Canadian-approved COVID-19 vaccination.
- Working conditions include a rotational schedule of 14 days on / 14 days off, operations into remote or challenging fields requiring high skill and adaptability, work performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to outdoor weather, and physical demands including lifting, sitting, standing, climbing, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
