About This Role
Keewatin Air (also known as Kivalliq Air) is an Arctic aeromedical and charter operator based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, providing 24-hour emergency air ambulance and regional medevac/charter services across Central and Northern Canada. The PC24 Captain is responsible for the operation and safety of the aircraft and all people on board during flight time, adhering to Canadian aviation regulations and making critical decisions on flight paths, weather, mechanical integrity, and emergencies. Schedule is a 14-days-on / 14-days-off rotation, with flights often into remote or challenging fields.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Pre-flight duties familiarization (route, aerodromes, winds, weather, navigation aids, alternate plans). Operate aircraft in accordance with CARS and take corrective action if safety is jeopardized
  • adhere to checklists for various flight phases. Observe instructions and limitations in the Operations Manual, Flight Manual, and Certificate of Airworthiness. Follow Air Traffic Control, Communications, and Weather reporting procedures. Ensure aircraft operation within parameters for patients and report deviations in the Captains Trip Report. Report known or suspected aircraft defects to maintenance and record in the Journey Log. Check weather for unusual conditions and protect the aircraft during stop-overs. Complete and submit associated paperwork (Journey Log, Flight Manifests, Captains Trip Report, Load Control forms, fuel slips, Dangerous Goods). Notify authority of crew location. Carry out duties detailed in the Safety Management System Manual.
Requirements
  • Valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) Certificate.
  • 2500 hours total flight time (500 hours pilot-in-command on multi-turbine), 100 hour time on type.
  • MEDEVAC/Air Ambulance experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Transport Canada regulations.
  • Able to obtain Driving Airside License (D/A).
  • Able to obtain and maintain Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Valid passport required and able to travel abroad unrestricted.
  • Clear Current Criminal Record, Child Abuse Registry and Vulnerable Sectors Check.
  • Indigenous Awareness and/or Cultural Diversity training considered an asset.
  • Be fully vaccinated with a Canadian approved COVID-19 vaccination.
