About This Role
SkyCare is seeking a Medevac Captain to operate the SW4 Metroliner from its main base in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. The Captain will lead high-impact medevac missions supporting remote Northern communities and will hold full responsibility for the safe and effective operation of the aircraft, crew, and mission. The role involves multi-engine IFR flying in dynamic and remote environments, including time-critical medical, cargo, and specialized charter operations across Ontario, North America, and the Caribbean, with pilot assignments potentially rotating across SkyCare’s network.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Medevac Captain exercises final authority over the safe operation of the aircraft, conducts pre-flight inspections, and ensures proper weight and balance.
- The Captain leads and coordinates flight crew activities during all phases of flight, communicates with dispatch, air traffic control, and ground teams, and responds to in-flight events such as emergencies and operational changes.
- After each flight, the Captain completes post-flight inspections and reports any maintenance requirements.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold a Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence for fixed-wing aircraft and a Transport Canada ATPL, along with a multi-instrument flight rating and a valid Canadian Aviation Medical.
- The posting requires at least two years of experience, 2,000 total flight hours, and 500 hours of multi-engine PIC time.
- Candidates must also have a valid driver’s licence, a Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Licence, and a valid Canadian passport or the ability to work in Canada and travel to the USA.
- Additional requirements include effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication with English-language proficiency, and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector completed within the last 30 days.
