About This Role
Medway Air Ambulance is seeking a home-based Learjet Captain to support fixed-wing air ambulance missions transporting patients to the next level of care. The role requires at least 2,000 hours of fixed-wing pilot time, FAA commercial, instrument, MEL, and ATP ratings, a current first-class FAA medical certificate, and the ability to travel internationally without restriction. The schedule is 8 days on and 6 days off with no commuting on hard days off, and the package includes salary, flight-hour pay, bonuses, company-paid PIC type-rating training, healthcare, retirement matching, paid leave, and additional day-off and holiday compensation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain plans flight assignments and obtains briefing information covering the purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures, and special instructions. The role supervises crewmembers to ensure proper flight planning and preparation, supervises the loading and distribution of cargo and passengers, and determines that weight and balance remain within prescribed limitations using sample loading schedules, the load computer, or applicable aircraft flight-manual information and graphs. What We Offer
Compensation includes a $50,000 retention bonus, a $10,000 signing bonus for PIC-qualified pilots, a $15,000 current type-rating bonus per type for pilots with a 36-month SIM-current type rating in the LR-45 or LR-JET series, flight-hour pay for every hour flown, per diem meal allowances, and a cell-phone reimbursement allowance.The company pays for PIC type-rating training at FSI or CAE, provides a 12-month initial training contract, and pays for off-day training and FAA medical reimbursement.Benefits include a company-paid Known Crew Member Badge, group medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, matching 401(k) contributions, paid vacation and sick days, holiday pay for flying on any of the seven major U.S. holidays, and a day-off bonus for flying on hard days off.
Requirements
- Applicants must upload a valid passport, pilot license, FCC Radio Operator Permit, first-class medical certificate, and driver's license with the application.
- The role requires a minimum of 2,000 hours of total pilot time in fixed-wing aircraft, commercial, instrument, MEL, and ATP ratings, a current first-class FAA medical certificate, a valid passport, unrestricted ability to travel internationally, U.S. work authorization, and unrestricted ability to travel into and out of the country.
- Applicants must be able to pass Transportation Security Administration background screening and obtain the required airport authority and/or U.S.
- Customs security badges.
- Air-carrier flight experience in turbojet aircraft or two-person crew operations and Learjet or similar aircraft experience are required qualifications, while 1,000 hours of turbine PIC or multi-engine aircraft time and Part 135 or flight-instructor experience are preferred but not required.
- Candidates must also be highly knowledgeable of the Operations Manual, FAA regulations, operations specifications, flight manuals, and related operating procedures.
