About This Role
Medway Air Ambulance is recruiting a mission-focused Learjet Pilot in Command to operate fixed-wing air ambulance flights transporting patients to the next level of care. The role is home based in Scottsdale, Arizona, follows an 8-days-on/6-days-off schedule with no commuting on hard days off, and combines safe flight operations with patient-focused healthcare service. The pilot will plan assignments, supervise crew preparation and loading, ensure weight and balance compliance, communicate effectively with all stakeholders, and maintain detailed knowledge of FAA regulations, company manuals, operations specifications, and aircraft flight manuals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The pilot will plan flight assignments and obtain briefing information covering the flight purpose, weather, operating procedures, and special instructions. Responsibilities include supervising crewmembers to ensure proper planning and flight preparation
- supervising cargo and passenger loading and distribution
- determining that weight and balance remain within prescribed limitations using loading schedules, a load computer, or applicable aircraft flight manual information and graphs
- maintaining strong, clear, effective, and timely oral and written communications
- interacting respectfully and professionally with coworkers, clients, vendors, and other personnel
- remaining highly knowledgeable of the Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, operations specifications, and flight manuals
- and maintaining a professional appearance.
What We Offer
The compensation package includes a $50,000 retention bonus, a $10,000 signing bonus for PIC-qualified pilots, a $15,000 current-type-rating bonus per type for pilots with a 36-month SIM-current type rating in the LR-45 or LR-JET series, flight-hour pay for every hour flown, per diem meal allowances, and a cell phone reimbursement allowance.The company pays for the PIC type rating at FSI or CAE, provides paid off-day training and FAA medical reimbursement, and requires a 12-month initial training contract.Benefits include a company-paid Known Crew Member Badge, group medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, matching 401(k) contributions, paid vacation and sick days, holiday pay for flying on any of the seven major U.S. holidays, and a day-off bonus for flying on hard days off.
Requirements
- Applicants must provide a valid passport, pilot license, FCC Radio Operator Permit, First Class Medical Certificate, and driver's license with the application for interview consideration.
- The position requires at least 2,000 hours of total pilot time in fixed-wing aircraft.
- Air-carrier flight experience in turbojet aircraft or two-person crew operations and Learjet or similar aircraft experience are required qualifications, while 1,000 hours of turbine PIC or multi-engine aircraft time and Part 135 or flight-instructor experience are preferred but not required.
- Part 135 or flight-instructor experience is preferred but expressly not required.
- Candidates must hold a valid state driver's license, a current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate, a valid passport, unrestricted ability to travel internationally, U.S. work authorization, and Commercial, Instrument, MEL, and ATP ratings.
- Applicants must also pass TSA background screening and obtain the required airport authority and/or U.S.
- Customs security badges.
