About This Role
Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company and NetJets subsidiary, is seeking a Lead Captain for a Gulfstream G550 based at Henderson, Nevada (KHND). The established two-pilot account has a dedicated maintenance technician and cabin attendant and operates both Part 91 owner flights and Part 135 charter, flying 300 hours per year or less. The Lead Captain participates in the flying schedule while serving as the flight department's peer leader, managing client relationships, supporting effective crew resource management, and overseeing administrative duties, operational safety, service quality, and crew compliance. This is not a commutable position; candidates must live in or relocate to the Las Vegas area.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Actively fly as PIC and lead the designated flight department, balancing client needs with EJM requirements and proactively communicating issues and opportunities. Maintain important client relationships, support and motivate crewmembers, represent the EJM brand, and report concerns to the Regional Chief Pilot. Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with maintenance personnel and ensure completion of database updates, audits, checklists, and other recurring tasks. Handle account administration, including invoice reviews, vendor relationships, charter approvals, crew scheduling and communications, office and aircraft supplies, and subscriptions. Ensure crewing and trip assignments meet company and regulatory requirements
- complete flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks. Lead Threats, Plans and Considerations briefings, follow company SOPs, and serve as Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator. Complete aircraft preflight checks, verify maintenance status and mission readiness, record discrepancies, and monitor fueling, oil, oxygen, and other ground servicing. Conduct passenger briefings and meet passengers' special needs. Apply CRM and Threat and Error Management to communicate effectively during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations. Deliver consistent service to owners and passengers, identify service improvements, investigate and resolve service deviations, and manage conflicts appropriately. Maintain required training and recency, comply with the safety management system, report safety and compliance concerns, and ensure all crewmembers remain qualified, follow company policies, and are subject to appropriate audits. Requirements
- Candidates should have prior Part 135 experience
- an FAA GV/550/450 type rating is strongly preferred. Applicants must be able to perform the position's essential job functions and must reside in or relocate to the Las Vegas area, as the position is not commutable. Stated minimum flight experience is 3,500 hours total flight time, 1,500 hours multi-engine land, 2,000 hours pilot in command, 500 hours PIC multi-engine land, 300 hours instrument time, and 500 hours jet time. EJM conducts pre-employment drug screening and background checks. The posting does not specify a required pilot licence level.
