About This Role
Jet Linx is recruiting a full-time Lead Pilot in Command for its GYY-based Challenger 350 in the Chicago and Wheeling, Illinois area. The Lead Captain reports to the Base Chief Pilot and oversees safe, efficient Part 91 and Part 135 operations. The role serves as a primary contact for the aircraft owner, coordinates aircraft and trip matters with internal teams, and mentors other crew members. Candidates must live, or be willing to relocate, within a two-hour call-out time of their home base.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Pilot in Command reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot and prepares for and ensures the safe, efficient operation of company aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures. Essential duties include managing duty, flight, and rest periods to meet company and CFR requirements
- maintaining communication with the company regarding standby assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and pre- and post-flight reports
- maintaining and managing electronic flight bag hardware and applications
- ensuring navigation charts, publications, and company manuals remain current
- maintaining a current first-class medical certificate
- applying strong, proactive decision-making
- and demonstrating Jet Linx core values in all interactions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for aircraft and flight matters related to the Challenger 350.
- Partner with the Jet Linx Aviation Regional Vice President and concierge team on trip logistics.
- Exercise schedule flexibility to support aircraft and owner needs.
- Mentor additional crew members to meet Jet Linx and aircraft-owner expectations.

Jet Linx offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. The starting base annual salary ranges from $280,000 to $325,000, with the actual base salary depending on geographic location, aircraft size, relevant education, training, and experience. Requirements
- Minimum qualifications include 4,000 hours of total flight time, 2,000 hours of total PIC time, at least 500 hours of PIC time in the Challenger 350, 1,000 multi-engine hours, 500 multi-engine PIC hours, 1,000 turbine hours, 1,000 turbine PIC hours, 300 instrument hours, 1,500 jet hours, and 500 jet PIC hours. Initial or recurrent Part 142 training in type within the previous 24 months is preferred. Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. driver's license, provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States, hold a current passport and first-class medical certificate, and have an FCC Restricted Radio License. The role requires the ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and participate in random drug and alcohol testing, unrestricted travel to EU, Canadian, and Caribbean countries, completion of a FAA Pilot Record Database review with a System Chief Pilot, and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required. The candidate is expected to live or be willing to relocate within a two-hour call-out time of the home base
- most work takes place around aircraft and aircraft terminals, and the role requires moving up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) certification is preferred.
