About This Role
L3Harris Technologies seeks an experienced Lead Pilot for their Gulfstream G550 operations based in Richmond, VA. This Captain-level position involves Pilot in Command responsibilities on the G550, including standing up flight operations, training other pilots, and ensuring safety and compliance standards. The role requires a minimum of 3,000 total flight hours with 1,500 PIC hours, 1,500 multi-engine turbine hours, and 1,000 hours specifically on the G550. Applicants must be U.S. citizens able to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance, possess an ATP certificate, and eventually qualify on the Boeing 757. The position offers a professional environment with a 5/8 schedule and occasional travel requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform as Pilot in Command on Gulfstream 550 operations
- Serve as initial cadre member for standing up G550 flight operations
- Train current organization pilots in G550 operations and procedures
- Ensure operations, training, and safety management goals are met
- Adhere to scheduling, coordination, training, certification, and qualification requirements
- Comply with crew flight and duty time limitations and standard operating procedures
- Coordinate with customers to maintain culture of safety and efficient procedures
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Maintain on-call responsibilities and respond to occasional short notice travel

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility)
- Valid ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) certificate
- Minimum 3,000 total flight hours
- Minimum 1,500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
- Minimum 1,500 multi-engine turbine hours
- Minimum 1,000 hours in G550 specifically
- Class II FAA Flight Physical (Class I if age 65 or older)
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret security clearance
- Ability to obtain FAA airport clearance/security badge
- Experience in aircraft with MTGW of 74K lbs or greater
- Bachelor's Degree plus 9 years relevant experience (or equivalent: Graduate Degree plus 7 years, or 13 years without degree)
- Current U.S. Passport
- Valid State Driver's License
- Fluent English (read, speak, write)
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50-75 pounds above head
- Eventual Boeing 757 type qualification
- Relocation to Richmond, VA with 1 hour response time required
