Requires minimum 2000 total hours, 1000 multi-engine hours, and prior C-130 PIC or USFS IA Captain certification. High-tempo, mission-critical role supporting rapid wildfire response in challenging terrain.
Requirements
- FAA ATP or FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating
- Minimum 2000 hours total flight time
- Minimum 1000 hours multi-engine experience
- Minimum 500 hours IFR experience
- Prior C-130 PIC experience or USFS Initial Attack (IA) Airtanker Captain certification preferred
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Sound aeronautical decision-making and threat/error management skills
- Multi-crew and crew resource management experience
- Ability to operate at low level in mountainous and high-threat environments
- On-call availability during peak fire seasons
- Clean criminal record and background clearance
