About This Role
BAE Systems is recruiting a Head of Flight Operations for their government and defence aerospace division in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a leadership position requiring a former military fighter pilot with senior officer rank, command experience, and 15+ years in aircraft operations. The role demands extensive expertise in flying governance, military air operations, aircrew training, and aviation safety management with the ability to lead and develop multinational teams. This is a permanent position with no visa sponsorship available—local candidates only.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage flight operations across various aircraft
- Oversee aircraft operations and aircrew management
- Implement flying governance procedures and policies
- Supervise operational roles and weapon capabilities management
- Manage simulator and training programs
- Develop and motivate multinational workforce teams
- Apply military air operating procedures and tactics
- Manage aviation safety and compliance
Requirements
- Former military fighter pilot with senior officer rank
- Minimum 15+ years experience in aircraft operations including command role
- Valid CPL with GACA (KSA) license
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
- ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or higher
- Degree level education or equivalent
- Knowledge of military air operating procedures, strategies and tactics
- Experience in all aspects of Flying Governance and its application
- Good knowledge of fast jet air operations and aircrew training
- Working knowledge of aviation safety management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office proficiency
- Local candidate or existing work authorization in Saudi Arabia
