About This Role
Solairus Aviation is seeking a full-time Gulfstream GIV Captain for an operation based at KOAK in Oakland. The Captain will be responsible for the safe, compliant and professional operation of the aircraft, supporting client travel while maintaining Solairus’ standards of safety, service and integrity. The posting requires substantial total, PIC, multi-engine, turbojet and instrument experience, Gulfstream GIV or comparable type rating, a first-class medical, on-call availability, annual ICAO international procedures training, and residence within two hours of KOAK or a willingness to relocate. The stated salary range is $50,000 to $500,000, depending on geography, experience, aircraft, duties, training and assigned account.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain is responsible for the safe operation of the Gulfstream GIV and for conducting flights safely and prudently in accordance with Solairus Aviation policies, procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations. Duties include reviewing the aircraft’s maintenance status
- conducting a complete pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual
- checking weather, facilities, route information, destination airports and alternates
- ensuring the safety of passengers, aircraft and crew
- and accurately completing all trip paperwork under current procedures. The role also requires effective teamwork and consistent support for Solairus’ safety, service and integrity standards while meeting clients’ travel needs.
Requirements
- Required qualifications include 3,000 hours of total flight time, 1,500 hours of PIC time, 1,500 hours of MEL time, 500 hours of MEL PIC time, 500 hours in turbojet aircraft, and 250 hours of instrument time.
- Candidates must be type rated on the Gulfstream GIV or a comparable aircraft and hold a first-class medical.
- The Captain must be able to work on an on-call basis, complete ICAO international procedures training annually, and maintain a primary residence within a two-hour drive of KOAK or be willing to relocate.
