About This Role
Solairus Aviation is seeking a full-time Gulfstream G800 Captain for an operation based at KPDX in Portland, Oregon. The Captain will be responsible for the safe and prudent conduct of flights, aircraft maintenance-status review, approved-flight-manual pre-flight inspections, route and airport weather and facility checks, compliance with Solairus procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, passenger and crew safety, and accurate trip paperwork. The posting requires 3,000 total hours, 1,500 PIC hours, 1,500 MEL hours, 500 MEL PIC hours, 500 turbojet hours, and 250 instrument hours, together with a G800 or comparable type rating and a first-class medical. The pilot must be available on call, complete ICAO International procedures training annually, and live within a two-hour drive of KPDX or be willing to relocate. The posting also states that crewmember pay ranges from $50,000 to $500,000 depending on geography, experience, aircraft, duties, training, and assigned account.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain is responsible for the safe operation of the Gulfstream G800 and for conducting flights safely and prudently. Duties include reviewing the aircraft maintenance status
- performing a proper pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual
- checking weather and facilities along the route and at destination and alternate airports
- ensuring compliance with Solairus Aviation policies and procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
- ensuring the safety of passengers, aircraft, and crew
- and accurately completing all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
Requirements
- Required qualifications include 3,000 hours total time
- 1,500 PIC hours
- 1,500 MEL hours
- 500 MEL PIC hours
- 500 hours in a turbojet
- and 250 instrument hours. Applicants must be type rated on the Gulfstream G800 or a comparable aircraft and hold a first-class medical. The Captain must be able to work on an on-call basis, complete ICAO International procedures training annually, and maintain a primary residence within a two-hour drive of KPDX or be willing to relocate.
