About This Role
Solairus Aviation is seeking a full-time Gulfstream G550 Captain for an operation based at KSJC in San Jose. The Captain will operate the aircraft safely and prudently, support the company's client travel mission, comply with Solairus policies and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, and uphold the organization's culture of safety, service, integrity, and professional teamwork.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain is responsible for the safe operation of the Gulfstream G550 and for conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner. Duties include reviewing the aircraft's maintenance status
- completing a proper pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual
- checking weather and facilities along the planned route and at the airports to be used, including alternate airports
- ensuring flights comply with Solairus Aviation policies and procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
- protecting the safety of passengers, the aircraft, and the crew
- and accurately completing all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
Requirements
- Applicants must have 3,000 hours of total time, 1,500 hours of PIC time, 1,500 hours of multi-engine land time, 500 hours of multi-engine PIC time, 500 hours of turbojet time, and 250 hours of instrument time.
- The position requires a type rating on the Gulfstream G550 or a comparable aircraft, a first-class medical certificate, availability to work on an on-call basis, and completion of ICAO International Procedures training annually.
- The candidate must maintain a primary residence within a two-hour drive of KSJC or be willing to relocate.
