About This Role
Solairus Aviation is seeking a full-time Gulfstream G550 Captain for an operation at KPWK airport in Wheeling, Illinois. The captain will support safe, expert and service-oriented client travel while adhering to Solairus Aviation's culture of safety, service and integrity. The role requires substantial total, PIC, multi-engine and turbojet experience, qualification on the Gulfstream G550 or a comparable aircraft, annual ICAO international procedures training, and either residence within two hours of KPWK or a willingness to relocate.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The captain is responsible for the safe operation of the Gulfstream G550 and for conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner. Duties include reviewing the aircraft's maintenance status
- completing a proper pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual
- checking weather and facilities along the route, at destination airports and at alternate airports
- ensuring compliance with Solairus Aviation policies, procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
- protecting the safety of passengers, the aircraft and crew
- and accurately completing all trip paperwork under current procedures.
Requirements
- The posting requires 3,000 hours of total time, 1,500 hours PIC, 1,500 hours MEL, 500 hours MEL PIC, 500 hours of turbojet time and 250 hours instrument time.
- Candidates must be type rated on the Gulfstream G550 or a comparable aircraft and have a first-class medical.
- The captain must be able to work on an on-call basis, complete ICAO International procedures training annually, and either maintain a primary residence within a two-hour drive of KPWK or be willing to relocate.
