About This Role
Pan Am Flight Academy is seeking a Ground Instructor for various jet aircraft based in Miami, Florida. The instructor will be responsible for training pilots on Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft systems and emergency procedures using Flight Training Devices. Candidates must hold an FAA ATPL license with type ratings and have a minimum of five years flying experience under FAR 121. This is a permanent position requiring a Bachelor's degree and excellent communication and teaching skills, with the ability to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct ground training on various jet aircraft systems
- Teach emergency procedures using Flight Training Devices
- Maintain proficiency in aircraft emergency procedures
- Respond effectively to student inquiries and training needs
- Generate presentations and proposals on complex training subjects
- Define training problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
- Interpret student requirements and training needs from communication
Requirements
- Valid FAA ATPL license
- Type rating in Boeing 737 and/or Airbus A320
- Minimum 5 years flying experience under FAR 121
- FAA Type Rating for conducting training in Flight Training Devices
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Must acquire and maintain proficiency in emergency procedures
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Willing to work any shift or day of the week
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Teaching skills
