About This Role
Malaysia Airlines Flight Academy (MABA) is seeking a Ground Instructor ATPL to deliver high-quality theoretical training to students enrolled in the ATPL program at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The academy is a recognized aviation training organization operating under CAAM (Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia) and IOSA standards. Candidates must hold or have held a CPL/IR/ATPL license, or possess a CPL with ATPL ground subject qualifications, plus completion of an approved instructional technique course. This position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of airline pilots through comprehensive instruction in aerodynamics, meteorology, air navigation, flight planning, aviation law, and aircraft systems, with a focus on regulatory compliance and academic excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive classes and prepare teaching outlines for ATPL theoretical subjects
- Develop course materials and practical training schedules tailored for ATPL training
- Prepare MABA cadet pilots for ground training examinations
- Maintain and monitor flight trainee records and reports in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Assess student performance and provide feedback to ensure academic excellence
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment
- Support cadet pilots' personal knowledge development in aviation subjects per approved syllabus
- Assist in developing cadet pilots' personal qualities and discipline
- Collaborate with team on day-to-day training operations and key projects
- Ensure instructional materials are up-to-date and align with regulatory standards
Requirements
- Hold or have held a CPL/IR/ATPL license, or CPL with ATPL ground subject qualifications
- At least 5 years' experience in aviation field (alternative qualification route)
- Passed ATPL ground subject(s) that will be taught
- Attended and passed an approved Basic Instructional Technique Course or Train the Trainer Course
- Knowledge of current aviation regulations, technologies, and industry standards
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in learning management systems and educational tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor effectively
- Compliance with CAAM, IOSA, ISO (SIRIM), and CSO audit requirements
