About This Role
Saab is seeking an experienced Flight Operations Chief/NPFO (Nominated Person Flight Operations) to lead flight operations for their Special Flight Operations division in Nyköping, Sweden. This leadership role oversees firefighting, target, and measurement flight operations, as well as an approved flight training school (ATO), operating aircraft including Learjet 35, MU-2, and Bombardier 802 FireBoss both domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience in flight operations, minimum Commercial Pilot License, and deep knowledge of civil aviation regulations (ICAO, EASA). Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee all flight operations within Special Flight Operations section
- Ensure all flights comply with applicable legal requirements and internal principles, procedures, and standards
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and processes for flight operations
- Assess and manage operational risks and oversee limitations and negative trends
- Collaborate with Safety Manager and Compliance Monitoring Manager to foster positive reporting culture
- Work with NP Crew Training to ensure flight operations personnel have necessary qualifications
- Maintain good relations with competent authorities and regulatory bodies
- Participate in pilot recruitment
- Support Section Chief in business development, personnel management, budgeting, and cost-effective operations
- Participate actively in flight operations activities, both domestically and internationally
- Provide support to Accountable Manager in maintaining high flight safety standards

Requirements
- Documented experience in a leadership position within flight operations
- Minimum Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
- Experience with Learjet 35, MU-2, or Bombardier 802 FireBoss aircraft preferred
- Strong knowledge of civil aviation regulations and standards (ICAO, EASA, TS)
- Business acumen and understanding of operations management
- Knowledge of change management in complex environments
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills
- Fluent in English and Swedish (written and verbal)
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
- Ability to manage flight operations safely and efficiently
- Security clearance approval in accordance with current regulations
- Possible citizenship requirements may apply depending on security classification placement
