About This Role
FlightSafety International, the world's premier professional aviation training company, is seeking a Flight Instructor to deliver ground and simulator flight instruction at their Long Beach, California training center. The instructor will work with pilots from 167 countries, delivering core, specialty, and enrichment training courses using the world's largest fleet of advanced full-flight simulators. Candidates must hold an unrestricted ATP certificate (or equivalent ICAO airline transport pilot license) with at least one unrestricted PIC type rating and preferably 2,500 hours of total flight time. This role offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,625 to $171,250 annually, plus comprehensive benefits including 401(k) matching, healthcare coverage, vacation, and sick leave. Prior Part 121, Part 135, or military training experience is highly valued for this position.
Requirements
- Unrestricted ATP certificate or ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License
- If no ATP, must meet 14 CFR part 61.153 and 61.64 requirements without SOE limitation
- Minimum one unrestricted PIC type rating
- Able and willing to participate in DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program
- Preferred: 2,500 hours total flight time
- Preferred: FAR Part 135, Part 121, or military training experience
- Knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices
- Knowledge of common aviation regulations
- Ability to manage classes and teach effectively
- First-level facilitation skills
- First-level customer service skills
- Ability to be coachable and receive feedback
- Physical ability to reach, manipulate flight controls, and operate simulator equipment
- Ability to enter/exit simulator via ramp and navigate malfunctioned simulators
- Valid U.S. work authorization (may require U.S. citizenship for export-controlled positions)
