About This Role
Eastern Kentucky University is seeking a part-time Flight Instructor to provide flight, simulator, and ground instruction for Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, and Multiengine training courses in accordance with FAA Part 61 and Part 141 regulations. The position requires a minimum of 300 flight hours and valid FAA Commercial Pilot and Instrument Flight Instructor certificates. This is a non-benefit, part-time role (less than 20 hours per week) based at EKU's flight training facility. Candidates with multiengine instructor certificates and experience in Cessna 172 and Piper Seminole aircraft are preferred. Note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide flight instruction in accordance with Part 61 and Part 141 FAA regulations
- Conduct simulator and ground instruction
- Schedule students and maintain training records
- Ensure course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met
- Instruct Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, Flight Instructor, and Multiengine training courses
- Follow FAA Airmen's Information Manual and advisory circulars
- Comply with airport operations and EKU policies and procedures
Requirements
- High School diploma required
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate – Airplane Single Engine Land
- FAA Flight Instructor Certificate – Airplane Single Engine (CFI)
- FAA Instrument Airplane Flight Instructor Certificate (CFII)
- Minimum 300 hours of flight time
- Knowledge of Part 61 and Part 141 FAA regulations
- Satisfactory background check
- Not eligible for visa sponsorship
