United Airlines is hiring Flight Attendants for their Newark base with opportunities across seven hub locations. Competitive starting pay of $28.88/hour with comprehensive benefits, flight privileges, and extensive training provided. Must be 21+ with customer service experience and valid U.S. passport; candidates must already have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • 2 or more years of college preferred
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience in service industry
  • Fluent in English (spoken, read, written, and understood)
  • Proficiency in second language highly desirable
  • Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard in emergency
  • Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound
  • Professional appearance and excellent grooming standards
  • Willing to follow uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines
  • No tattoos on head, hands, fingers, or neck
  • Visible tattoos permitted on arms, wrists, legs, and feet if smaller than credit card (3.5 x 2.24 inches) or covered
  • No offensive, violent, obscene, sexual, racist, or weapon-related tattoos
  • No decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in mouth
  • Proficient with electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops)
  • Valid passport with 18 months remaining validity
  • Current physical possession of valid U.S. passport book or foreign passport with applicable visas
  • Ability to travel to and from all United Airlines destinations without restrictions
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, and lift heavy objects (up to luggage)
  • Ability to push and pull beverage cart (up to 250 lbs)
  • Functional reach assessment: 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach combined without shoes
  • Ability to sit in jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened
  • Willing to serve and sell food and beverages including alcohol
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Willing and able to work flexible 24/7 schedule including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Must successfully complete evacuation drill in water (pool) during training
  • Must pass DOT drug screen and randomized drug screens
  • No medical or recreational marijuana use
  • Must pass 10-year background check including criminal history
  • Must meet FAA/DOT hearing requirements (not greater than 40 dB hearing loss in better ear)
  • Must meet FAA/DOT vision requirements (20/40 or better corrected for both far and near vision)
  • Must pass comprehensive background checks and fingerprinting
  • Must pass vision and hearing tests
