United Airlines is hiring Flight Attendants for their Houston training center with assignments to seven major hubs. This is a permanent full-time position offering competitive hourly pay ($28.88-$67.11/hour), comprehensive benefits, flight privileges, and language skill bonuses. Applicants must be at least 21 years old with 1+ year of customer service experience and a valid U.S. passport.
Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age at time of application
  • High school graduate or GED
  • 2 or more years of college preferred
  • At least one year of customer service experience in service industry (retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, social service)
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
  • Proficiency in a second language highly desirable
  • Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound
  • Professional appearance with excellent grooming standards
  • No tattoos permitted on head, hands, fingers, or neck (including back of neck, ear area)
  • Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet must not exceed credit card size (3.5 x 2.24 inches) or must be covered
  • Visible tattoos must not be offensive, violent, obscene, sexual, racist, or contain objectionable content
  • No decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in mouth
  • Able to proficiently operate electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops)
  • Valid U.S. passport book or foreign passport book with 18+ months validity remaining
  • Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions
  • Able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, and lift heavy objects (such as luggage to overhead bin)
  • Ability to push and pull beverage cart up to 250 lbs
  • Functional reach assessment: combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach (without shoes)
  • Able to sit in jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened
  • Willing and able to serve and/or sell food and beverages including alcohol
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Willing and able to work flexible schedule 24/7 including weekdays, weekends, holidays
  • Must be willing to complete evacuation drill in water (pool) during training
  • Willing and able to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting
  • Must pass vision/hearing tests meeting FAA requirements
  • Must pass 10-year background check with no criminal history prohibiting travel
  • Hearing not worse than 40 dB loss in better ear when averaged at 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz
  • Each eye must be 20/40 or better corrected for both far and near vision
  • No DWI/DUI convictions or probation within last 10 years without Temporary Resident Permit
  • Medical and recreational marijuana is prohibited
