United Airlines is hiring Flight Attendants for their Dulles, VA base and other hub locations. Competitive hourly pay starting at $28.88/hour with comprehensive benefits, travel privileges, and $1,000 training completion bonus. Applicants must be U.S. work-authorized and able to travel globally without restrictions.
Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age at time of application
  • High school graduate or GED (2 or more years of college preferred)
  • At least one year of customer service experience in service industry
  • Able to speak clearly and concisely, loudly enough to be heard in an emergency
  • Fluent in English (spoken, read, written, and understood)
  • Proficiency in a second language highly desirable
  • Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound
  • Professional appearance with excellent grooming standards
  • Willing to follow uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines
  • No tattoos permitted on head, hands, fingers, or neck (including back of neck and ear)
  • Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet permitted if smaller than credit card size (3.5 inches x 2.24 inches) or covered with uniform
  • No visible offensive tattoos (violent, obscene, sexual, racist, or containing weapons imagery)
  • No decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth
  • Ability to proficiently operate electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops)
  • Valid U.S. or foreign passport with at least 18 months validity remaining at time of application
  • Ability to travel to and from all United destinations without restrictions
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, and reach
  • Ability to lift heavy objects such as luggage to overhead bin
  • Ability to push and pull beverage cart up to 250 lbs.
  • Ability to pass functional reach assessment with 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach
  • Ability to sit in jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened
  • Required to serve and sell food and beverages including alcohol
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Willing and able to work flexible 24/7 schedule including nights, weekends, holidays
  • Must complete evacuation drill in water (pool) during training
  • Willing to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen
  • Willing to complete comprehensive background checks and fingerprinting
  • Willing to complete vision and hearing tests
  • Must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens
  • Medical and recreational marijuana prohibited
  • Must pass 10-year background check including criminal history
  • Background must not prohibit travel to any United destination
  • Hearing loss not greater than 40 dB in better ear at 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz
  • Vision requirement: each eye 20/40 or better corrected for far and near vision
