About This Role
Southwest Airlines is hiring Flight Attendants to join their legendary hospitality team as the Heart of the airline. This role is based nationwide across Southwest's U.S. operations and is entry-level with no experience required. Successful candidates must be at least 20 years old, a U.S. citizen or have current work authorization, and be able to pass comprehensive background and physical ability testing. Requirements
- Minimum 20 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the United States
- Valid passport with ability to travel in and out of the United States without restriction
- Must not require work authorization sponsorship now or in the future
- Able to lift and/or lower objects weighing up to 20 pounds without assistance
- Able to lift, lower, and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Able to reach above head with arms fully extended to operate overhead bins
- Able to bend down and assume squatting position with knees touching ground
- Able to perform emergency water evacuation by jumping into water with life vest and climbing into raft
- Able to lift, balance, and carry a full drink tray while walking down aisle
- Able to walk and stand for significant periods of time
- Able to expeditiously move through cabin aisles and exits in emergency and non-emergency situations
- Able to fit quickly through overwing window exit
- Able to fit into jumpseat harness without modification, including closure without seatbelt extension
- Ability to read documents and follow instructions
- Ability to learn and understand emergency and company procedures
- Ability to work well with others as part of a team
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with the public on constant basis
- Ability to work rotating shift work, overtime, and travel on constant basis
- Ability to maintain well-groomed appearance per company standards
- Ability to comply with company attendance standards
- Must successfully complete initial and recurrent training programs
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CREW badge designation with Rap Back enrollment
- Foreign language skills preferred but not required
