About This Role
United Airlines is hiring Flight Attendants (Italian speakers required) for multiple U.S. hub locations. This is a permanent, full-time position with comprehensive benefits, competitive hourly pay starting at $28.88/hour, and extensive travel privileges. The role requires flexibility for 24/7 global assignments and successful completion of 6.5 weeks of training in Houston.

Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age at time of application
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Two or more years of college preferred
  • At least one year of customer service experience in service industry
  • Fluent in English (spoken, read, and written)
  • Fluent in Italian (spoken and read)
  • Valid U.S. or foreign passport with at least 18 months validity remaining
  • Ability to travel to and from all United service countries without restrictions
  • Ability to legally work in the United States
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, and reach
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 250 lbs (luggage, beverage cart)
  • Functional reach assessment: combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach (without shoes)
  • Ability to sit in jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened
  • Ability to serve and sell food and beverages including alcohol
  • Must speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard in an emergency
  • Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound
  • Vision: 20/40 or better corrected for both far and near vision
  • Hearing: no greater than 40 dB loss in better ear (at 500, 1000, 2000 Hz average)
  • Professional appearance with excellent grooming standards
  • Willing to follow uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines
  • No tattoos on head, hands, fingers, or neck
  • Visible arm/wrist/leg/foot tattoos must be smaller than credit card (3.5 x 2.24 inches) or covered
  • No decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in mouth
  • Proficient operation of electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops)
  • Flexibility to work 24/7 including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to fulfill reserve assignments on short notice
  • Willingness to relocate to assigned base (Houston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, or other location)
  • Successful completion of evacuation drill in water (pool) during training
  • Pass pre-employment DOT drug screen
  • Pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens
  • Pass comprehensive background check (10-year history)
  • Pass fingerprinting
  • Pass vision and hearing tests
  • No medical or recreational marijuana use
  • No DWI/DUI conviction within last 10 years (or Temporary Resident Permit from Canada if applicable)
  • Ability to pass background check and travel eligibility verification
